In Kolkata, the West Bengal government has removed Suhrita Paul from her position as Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Manas Kumar Bandyopadhyay has been appointed as her replacement. The decision follows a student-led protest demanding Paul’s removal, which was supported by protesting doctors. Additionally, the government has transferred three senior officials from RG Kar Medical College and canceled the appointment of Sandip Ghosh as Principal of National Medical College & Hospital.
