I can't remember exactly how it got started, but I was remarking how I needed to pump some variety into my playtime (and by extension, recording time), so a great session of Mario Kart was set afoot!
Actually, looking back at stuff, I don't seem to have many Worldwide Wi-Fi races or battles whatsoever...only my three most recent ones ("recent" being relative, since they were from over a year ago) being anything not involving Friends races.
It explains why my battle mode videos were never of the mixed variety you get on Worldwide, instead being the best-of-three you get when you play on the Friends setting.
Oh well, anyway, early parts of this batch comes from within the same session that Overhazard (as AltonBrown) drew the "May 24 2011" (A and B parts) from, so these races may seem familiar in a couple of moments...but then again, since the game is driven very heavily by its vantage point, even two different perspectives will result in vastly different experiences that just happened to be set in the same time and place.
Oh, and as if that wasn't enough excitement, we randomly got "found" by Peach and [star]-[lowercase lambda]-[registered trademark symbol]-[lowercase tau]-h-[lowercase mu]-[registered trademark symbol]-[star]-[unregistered trademark symbol]...but that's a little hard to pronounce, so let's just call him "Arthur" instead. You may better know Peach as marinaneon2 and Arthur as Artrocks93 here on YouTube, though.

Waluigi
Jetsetter
I'm kinda thinking it was a really bad idea to choose to resume my Mario Kartery for the first time in forever by taking the Jetsetter for a spin. It may be one of my favorites, but that doesn't mean that I should just jump right on it without any acclimation to more "normal" rides first, eh?
Enough about that, Waluigi time! ("WAAAAAA!")

Race #1 -- GCN Mario Circuit
Remember when Wario and Waluigi used to have bob-ombs as their signature weapons in Double Dash? Actually, I rather like them being in general use, but they are still rather uncommon weapons of only slight mass destruction.
I really need to take it easy on the back stretch, I don't think careening airborne at crazy angles relative to the Goomba-infested track can be particularly good for either the vehicle or one's standing.

Race #2 -- N64 Mario Raceway
Incidentally, this race became my favorite in hindsight when the pieces started falling into place and the two halves of the story told by two uploaders' videos and the unique little takes on personal crises that occurred to the both of us.
On the final lap, you'll notice that I bumped into somebody on the hairpin mushroom turn's shortcut and picked up a lightning cloud...unseen here, that really left AltonBrown high and dry in the middle of the grass, but of course karmic retribution is a funny little boomerang...so I got stuck dead-center on a tree.
After I got myself unhooked, I was mad with the need to pass this thing along to someone...anyone! So who happened to fall right into line just before it ran out? Peach! Wow, I'm just...awful. I can't believe how hateful Waluigi is making me seem to be in hindsight, even I'm embarrassed for myself.
Worry not, because the voodoo boomerang of vengeance bites twice to make me shy away from the life of evil...or something, because a magic bullet puts me in my place.
I think the real insult added to injury was when David and his little Baby Mario bike just rode right over top of me for no real reason. Even as it happened, I was quite amused...not so much at the original incident, but what's the point if you can't laugh at the little catastrophes of life?

Race #3 -- Dry Dry Ruins
Did you see that? A glowing Yoshi just jumped over my head and flew into the wall! I don't know if that's more portions funny or confusing or lucky...I guess Mario Kart really does have a way of punishing potential evildoers.
Then you can spot the point where I mistook the direction of the turn and ended up hitting the wall. Well, in general, this race happens to be a good testimonial as to why someone who hasn't played this game in a while shouldn't jump straight onto the Jetsetter.

Race #4 -- Wario's Gold Mine
What surprises me the most is that I didn't have any hysterical oversteering on a straight path on the two big dips in the track (seriously, I don't know why, but it gets to me, and it's a real "accomplishment" for me to keep steady on those parts some days) and the fact that I managed to do some power slides and even mini turbos without touching a mine car once.
Kudos to Chris for slipping that green shell up the hill after me such that I wouldn't see it coming, but I suspect that maybe it was a botched attempt to block my red shell instead, which I'm sure would be the outcome we would've both preferred anyhow. Funny how Mario Kart works like that.
