MALTA - A construction worker was killed in a construction area in the GlobalFoundries Malta facility.
State Police say at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 54 year-old Michael Hauf was working on the 4th floor at the Fab8 campus when he was involved in the accident that claimed his life.
State Police say the worker was employed with John Danforth Construction and was part of a six man crew moving an industrial air exchanger
An official with GlobalFoundries states they are working with local emergency responders and local authorities.
They also say there is no further safety risk and that the construction activity on the campus is suspended until further notice.
