Invaders Beware: Tackling The Pig and Fox Problem in Australia

Описание: Helping a mate out on a contract shoot this trip. Targeting feral pigs and foxes on both cropping properties and up in the hills. This is purely pest control, all animals culled in this video are invasive to Australia. Devastating to crops, pasture, bushland and native animals, they often carry various diseases such as brucellosis and neosporosis.

I managed to do a bit during the day which was a pleasant change for me as most of my work is carried out after dark generally. Pig numbers were far lower than our previous trip as contractors had been helicopter shooting them a couple of weeks prior fairly local to where we were. We still managed to shoot 50 odd pigs and 30 foxes. Most of the foxes were quite young and easily fell victim to our 308's topped with thermal.

The detail and quality of the image in this new gear really needs to be seen to be believed.

Both Rob and I were used .308 bolt actions for the majority of the culling. Pigs are tough animals and the extra knock down power of the 30 cal works well.
I did manage to drop a couple with the Taipan X pump action .223 however I'm looking forward to trying this rifle chambered in 300 Blackout.
