Mercenaries II follows Deception, a mission in which the Kimeran Pirates stealthily entered a Confederate remnant science facility and left with valuable secret data files. The pirates may have spotted Infested Stukov there, and, leaving with a rescued experimental infested terran in their stealthy battlecruiser, but may have been followed by cloaked Wraiths from the facility (something the battlecruiser's commander, Captain Buzan, believed to be impossible).
The exact events are uncertain, as Infested Stukov's presence is a "top secret" and skillful players of the Deception map will not have their ship pursued by the Wraiths.
Storyline
Alexei Stukov paid mercenary commanders well to remove some of his enemies which had gathered on the dark planet below. Stukov provided them with their choice of mercenaries.
Depending on the head mercenary that you choose, you can play with the StarCraft race of your choice. If you choose Jenn the Vivacious, you can gain access to the Skullder Unit 004, a similar unit to the Skullder Unit 001 designs found in the map Deception.
