Описание: Fort Sackville (built in 1749) was an important fort, guarding the main road, which was for a very long time, the only road which crossed Nova Scotia from the Atlantic Coast to Windsor, Grand Pre, Truro and beyond. It was attacked so many times during Father Le Loutre's War and the French and Indian War that the attacks were no longer considered necessary to count. It was garrisoned by soldiers from New England, Nottinghamshire and South Lancashire/Nova Scotians. It was eventually garrisoned by soldiers of the early Nova Scotian regiments, and existed, in various states of disrepair, until 1912.
