Analog Photography Darkroom

Описание: The true soul of analog photography lives in the darkroom. This is a video on how I make a silver gelatin darkroom print with tea toning*.

It is a rough and not-too-detailed video about my preferred workflow and methods in making a darkroom print - it is not a HOW TO -video, but rather made to spread the spirit and message of this beautiful artform of analog photography.


Developing of the film was left out because it is a whole different topic which would need a separate video as it determines the qualities of how the final print will look like.


This is also me trying to figure out how to light stuff to make a video look better than what it really is. Also paid a lot of attention to trying to emulate the characteristics of 35mm film. Maybe slowly getting the hang of it..

Also I am no expert in anything I do, as I go about whatever without actually knowing what I do and just go by gut feeling - nothing in this video is necessarily true and my "knowledge" is filtered through my opinions and experience.

Vähän erilainen video tällä kertaa. Pimiö on ollut talossa vajaa vuoden ja tässä on tulos.


Videota ei ole tehty "näin vedostat oikein" -hengessä, vaan enemmänkin tarkoitus on tuoda esille perinteistä analogista valokuvausta ja varsinkin sitä kuvanottohetken jälkeen tapahtuvaa prosessia.


Filmin kehityksen jätin pois koska siinähän ei tapahdu mitään "jännää", vaikka vaikuttaakin paljon siihen minkälainen lopullisesta vedoksesta tulee. Vaatinee aikanaan oman videonsa.


Projekti toimi myös eräänlaisena harjoitustyönä; aloin opettelemaan valaisua joka on tähän saakka ollut suurinpiirtein mysteeri jonka olen onnistunu kiertämään kaukaa poislukien muutamat otokset käsivarren reissulla jossa kannoin mukanani pientä LED -valoa.
