A voidable contract is when one party in the contract has the right to treat the contract as unenforceable, or could elect not to exercise that right. An example would be somebody who signs a contract right before they're 18th birthday, technically they're a child when they sign the contract, when they're past their 18th birthday they're an adult. They could walk away from the contract after they're 18 claiming they didn't have the capacity to sign the contract when they were 17, or they could just participate under the contract and treat the contract as still a valid contract, and not exercise their right to deem it to be voidable.
