[6:51] Presoaking the yarn at room temperature in plain tap water for about an hour
[7:01] DOS/OWG calculations
[11:01] Dyeing the Silver Gray Miniskeins 0.25% - 4% DOS.
1 cup of water + 1 tsp white vinegar in each mason jar.
Add 2.5 mL, 5 mL, 10 mL, 20 mL, and 40 ML of the 2% dyestock to create the 0.25%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 4% DOS of Silver Gray
[14:01] Then add the presoaked 20 g miniskeins
[15:01] Heating the yarn for 20 min
The jars are in a pasta insert in my dedicated multicooker dyepot
[16:02] After 20 min, most of the dye has absorbed. Turn off the heat and let the yarn sit in the pot for another 20 min
[17:36] Removing the yarn from the jars
[19:12] Measuring out the true black dye
1 cup of water + 1 tsp white vinegar in each mason jar.
Add 5 mL, 10 mL, 20 mL, 40 mL, and 80 mL of the 1% dyestock to create the 0.25%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and 4% DOS of True Black
Heat the same way for 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let the yarn sit in the pot another 20 min (40 min total)
