Food in NYC: A Side You've Never Seen

Описание: Queens is the most diverse place in the world, and within this borough teeming with culture and food is my favorite neighborhood, Jackson Heights. You'll find Nepali Bhanchha Ghar, an authentic Nepali restaurant just across from the Roosevelt Avenue 7-train stop. I met the owner, Bimla, who happens to also be a popular Nepali singer and performer.

After our interview, she invited me (or rather I invited myself) to the party she throws in the basement of the restaurant. I was the only non-Nepali there and had the time of my life.

The Civil War that took place from 1996 to 2006 left thousands of Nepali's killed and led to a spike in migration, largely to the US. Nepal has a beautiful culture and cuisine which you don't need to be in Nepal to experience.

Visiting this little hole in the wall in NYC is a must. Ask Bimla for an invite to the party and you might get lucky!
