Today we went to our local shelter with intentions of only selecting 5-6 new cats to bring to the cafe setting, but when Melanie got there, she couldn't refuse the 12 faces she saw! We ended up taking double the amount of cats we intended, and we couldn't be happier about it! We always love getting new cats, especially when we know it saved them and hopefully others from euthanasia!

We want to share this video as much as possible, because we want to spread awareness about the reality of a cat's life before they get to your home. We want everyone to be aware that adopting a cat is a 20 year commitment, and if that's too much to handle, we urge you to hold off on adopting. Too many times a day we receive calls about surrendering perfectly healthy, beautiful cats. It pains us to receive those calls, because WE are aware of what happens when a cat is surrendered -- they may never find a home again and live out the rest of their life in a cage.

Majority of the cats filmed in this video have ALREADY found their forever homes! We love sharing their transition story from the moment they are selected at the shelter, to the moment they find their forever home through The Shabby Tabby. This past week we had 17 total adoptions! We will be heading to the shelter again VERY soon after the busy week we had!
