WHITTINGTON | 4K Walking Tour of Beautiful Village with Stunning Castle Ruins in Shropshire, UK

Описание: 📍 Join us for a relaxing, high-quality and informative walking tour around Whittington, which is situated in the heart of Shropshire, England. Shot in 4K at 60fps. This immersive walk showcases the country park in all of its glory.

We begin our walking tour along the public footpath that leads from the Whittington Parish Council Playground to the main hub of the village itself. From there, we stop by some key sites landmarks such as:

1) St John the Baptist Church - A beautiful Grade II listed Red Sandstone church that was constructed in the early 19th century & was built on the site of an older wooden church (likely to have been of Norman origin)

2) Memorial Garden - Once an open graveyard for the nearby church of St John's, the garden today is maintained by a private company called "Wend & Wild" and is a very pretty spot in the village to contemplate and relax

3) Whittington Castle - Founded in the early 12th century by William Peverel, a Norman Knight who fought alongside William the Conquerer. Built on the site of an old Iron Age Fort & Norman settlement, the remains of the stone castle (constructed in the 13th century to replace the original timber framed structure) is free to enter and is a delight to see, especially as you're welcomed through the stunning gatehouse that was restored in the early 19th century.
