When you want to learn something, who do you go to first? Your peer, someone who is in the same boat as you. Here is a video on how to find the x and y intercepts of a function. I include many examples for you to try as well. I also share with you my learnings, challenges, tips, and tricks as I learnt this concept.
At the end of this video my hope is for you to:
Understand what x and y intercepts are.
Find the x and y intercepts of a function.

Answer to your turn now questions:
1. 4x=y-4
How to solve it: There are two ways you can solve this. You can plug in 0 for the y value to find the x intercept and plug in 0 for the x value to find the y intercept. Or you can subtract y from both sides to get 4x-y=-4 and then convert that into the form x/a+y/b=1. I explain how to convert into that form in the video timestamp 6:51. Both ways get the same answer.
Answer: x-intercept = (-1,0) y-intercept = (0,4)
2. -3y=3x+3
How to solve it: There are two ways you can solve this. You can plug in 0 for the y value to find the x intercept and plug in 0 for the x value to find the y intercept. Or you can subtract 3x from both sides to get -3y-3x=3 and then convert that into the form x/a+y/b=1. I explain how to convert into that form in the video timestamp 6:51. Both ways get the same answer.
Answer: x-intercept = (-1,0) y-intercept = (0,-1)
3. 2x+y=4
How to solve it: There are two ways you can solve this. You can plug in 0 for the y value to find the x intercept and plug in 0 for the x value to find the y intercept. Or you can convert this function into the form x/a+y/b=1. I explain how to convert into that form in the video timestamp 6:51. Both ways get the same answer.
Answer: x-intercept = (2,0) y-intercept = (0,4)
