Presenting Aster Hobby Japan’s track testing of the first production unit of our new USRA Light Mikado. Thanks to Kawasaki Indoor Layout for use of their track.
The Mikado was tested by pulling 7 box cars, with each car loaded with 4kg (8.8lbs) weights. With the new larger axle pump and Aster’s well-designed b-type boiler and firebox, the loco ran for extended lengths without needing any hand pumping, keeping pressure and steady water levels.
Total weight: 7 cars + 28kgs (62lbs)
Total runtime: 2 hours with 1 alcohol refuel.
