Over 1500 individuals were detained in Jammu and Kashmir’s largest ever "non-kinetic operation" by the police, conducted over the last five days across more than 1400 locations in all 10 districts of Kashmir and six districts of the Jammu region. Those detained include terror associates out on bail, individuals in contact with Pakistan-based terrorists, and immediate relatives of active militants. The operation, ordered by the Director General of J&K Police, Nalin Prabhat, on November 6 and continuing over multiple days, aims to dismantle terror-support networks and sustain peace in the Union Territory.

It involves coordinated raids, cordon-and-search operations, and inspections aimed at disrupting militant infrastructure and misuse of communication networks. The police stressed this effort is preventive and intelligence-led to maintain stability and crack down on overground workers and terror sympathisers across the region. DGP Nalin Prabhat recently visited affected areas to oversee ongoing security measures and further strengthen counter-terrorism efforts.
