After a long work week, we set out for an overnight trip in the Sequoia National Forest with plans to camp at Sherman Peak. As we climbed higher, snow and icy roads forced us to make a call and change plans.
We turned back, found Poison Creek, and set up camp just in time to enjoy a quiet night by the fire—good food, a warm tent, and time away from the noise.
This trip was a reminder that sometimes the best moments come when the plan changes.
