Job was caught in the epicenter of a spiritual battle between God and Satan. God's hedge of protection around Job limited what Satan could do. As the blacksmith’s hammer flattens the iron, Satan’s repeated blows sought to crush Job. But they only succeeded in proving his integrity and his faith in God. When God's hedge of protection completely surrounds us, Satan is powerless to act against us. But if a time comes when God pulls the hedge back and allows Satan to attack us, we can resist any fiery trials and opposition in the same ways as Job did.
