Licor 43 old fashioned

I’m Tiki Bar Sam, and today we’re cracking open a bottle that’s been sitting on my shelf way too long — Licor 43.

I honestly didn’t even remember why I bought it, and I’d never tasted it before… so we’re doing a first-ever taste test on camera. Spoiler alert: it’s thick, syrupy, and absolutely delicious — think vanilla, orange, and butterscotch.

After that, I put it to work in a Licor 43 Old Fashioned, which might just become my new go-to version of this classic cocktail.

🍸 Cocktail Recipe: Licor 43 Old Fashioned

2 oz bourbon (I’m using Maker’s Mark)

¾ oz Licor 43

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Clear ice cube (optional but recommended)

Orange peel garnish (optional, big step for me!)

Shake to chill, strain over ice, garnish if you like, and enjoy.

This cocktail replaces the usual simple syrup with Licor 43, and it blends beautifully with the bourbon. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner.
