Flipside: LITTLE CUPID Here is another great uncharted song from my collection, unknown to most. OKeh Records was founded by Otto K. E. Heinemann as the "Otto Heinemann Phonograph Corporation," a supplier of phonographs in 1916 in NYC. He incorporated phonograph records into the company and released its first records for sale to the public in 1918. In 1926 OKeh was sold to Columbia Records. Columbia and its subsequent parent companies (ARC, CBS & Sony Music) have controlled OKeh ever since. It is still in business today after all these years. WOW!!!

OKeh was a big label on which many early vocal groups recorded. Some were: The Sugar Tones, Flames, Ravens, The Royals, The Golden Gate Quartet, The Vibrations, Travelers, HI-Lites, Five Scamps, Little Joe/Thrillers, and The Schoolboys. Some single artists who also recorded on OKeh were Louis Armstrong, Little Richard, Johnny Ray, Brook Benton, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Major Lance, Billy Stewart and many others.
