Door Frame Reach Rotational Exercises Series increases pain free thoracic range of motion while increasing strength and stability of back, hip, and lower extremities.
This exercises combines thoracic rotational with balance and proprioception of the door frame stance exercises.
We use the same foot position as the door frame balance series. Start with feet apart and then move them closer together with improvement. Then pull one foot 6 inches backwards to make yourself less stable. Keep moving the foot backwards until it can be behind the other, much like being on a “tightrope.” Then progress to standing on one foot with a toe down. Then eventually on one foot.
Of course we can begin to close our eyes. Start with closing one eye and then eventually both eyes in each foot position.
Always perform these exercises in a safe place, such as a door frame.
