Valentino Rossi finished the 2024 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in 24th place overall (17th in the Pro class). Although he led for some time during the race, his result was negatively affected by an incident in the last quarter of the race.
Team & Car: Rossi drove for BMW M Team WRT in the #46 BMW M4 GT3.
Teammates: He shared the car with experienced GT drivers Maxime Martin and Raffaele Marciello.
Qualification: The team started from 21st after narrowly missing out on Superpole.
Race progress:
During the night and early morning the #46 climbed to the front of the field and even took the lead in the race.
With about four and a half hours to go, things went wrong: Rossi collided with the #8 Ferrari of Nicolò Rosi while entering the track after the Les Combes corner.
This crash caused damage to the BMW, causing the team to lose a lot of time and ultimately finish outside the top 20.
The race, which took place from 29 to 30 June 2024, was a special edition because of the centenary of the 24 Hours of Spa.
