In this video, I draw a detailed graphite portrait, focusing on smooth shading, value control, and surface texture.
This timelapse was drawn using the grid method and a full range of Faber-Castell graphite pencils. To achieve softer transitions, the shading was built up in layers and gently blended multiple times until the values settled correctly.
I also revisited woven fabric textures in this piece, paying closer attention to edge control and contrast.
