Der Geher in Cuxhaven: Döse, Kugelbake

Описание: I am Der Geher and today in the district Döse of Cuxhaven. From the dyke at the Elbe the walk goes through the Kurpark and a small zoo. Only a few avocets can be seen. Then the path leads to Fort Kugelbake and back to the dike. This time at the North Sea. Finally we reach the Kugelbake. The northernmost point in Lower Saxony and the border between the Elbe and the North Sea.

The village of Döse developed from settlements that built a chapel together and was first mentioned in 1394 as part of Hamburg. Particularly worthy of attention here is the Kugelbake sea marker and Fort Kugelbake, both built from 1869 onwards. The Kugelbake was even included in the city's coat of arms in 1913.
