Aria of the Soul (Velvet Room) - Persona 3-5 Acapella

Описание: First things first, thank you to my mom for humming the lower notes towards the end of the song. This piece needed some weight towards the climax and her voice was perfect.

Also thank you to my newest mixer Wayne for working on this song. We ran through about 7 versions before we landed on one that was perfect. I must publicly thank him for being so patient.

Now on to my process for this one!
After a year of me being gone, (good grief) I have finally returned with the hardest song I have ever covered! I have no-joke been working on this since December of last year. While the original singer, Tomoko Komiya, was most likely instructed to sing it on an "ah" vowel, that vowel just so happens to be my weakest. So I, no joke, have about 20 takes of me singing the melody on an "ah," but I just couldn't help but hate every single take. I even reached out to both new and old vocal coaches to help me with song. I was taking this seriously!!

While I had improved from a technique standpoint, I still wasn't happy with where it was. So I decided to bite the bullet and sing it on an "oo" instead. I hope you all can still enjoy this cover even though it's a touch different than the original. See it as a creative liberty, if you will. I wanted to make sure this video was something I could look back and be proud of.

Not only did I have to redo the audio a bunch, I also ran into some syncing issues and had to redo the video footage as well (I couldn't catch a damn break with this song lol). My computer is getting a little old, and now struggles to complete the most basic of tasks. This makes video editing ROUGH.

Anyhoo, I have said everything I needed to about this song. While it may seem like I didn't have fun making this, that isn't true at all! I learned a lot vocally and seeing it all come together was very fun! I'm very happy I didn't give up and stuck with Aria of the Soul/Velvet Room to the very end. So with that, Season 2 after two years is officially finished. I will see you all next week with the first of the Intermission songs :D
