Potol also known as parwal , pointed gourd is a delightful green coloured vegetable which is in season during summer and monsoon. The pointed gourd is a water rich vegetable whose consumption is beneficial for all of us. Firstly it accelerates purine metabolism in the body and secondly it is helpful in reducing the problem of uric acid. So eat parwal to keep the body healthy.

Pointed gourd is a good source of vitamin A and C and B1 and B12 , potassium , magnesium , phosphorus and many other micronutrients . It is a low calorie vegetable and highly rich in vitamins and fibre. The fibre content helps to improve digestion and bowel movements. Vitamin C and A are important for boosting immunity and the antioxidant reduces oxidative stress in the brain and prevents cell damage.

It is also a good source of calcium , which is necessary for the health of the bone. It helps in controlling cholesterol levels in the body.

It helps in curing diabetes , faster recovery from jaundice , treats constipation , cleanses blood , has anti aging properties , good for vision , useful for skincare , control blood cholesterol , aids in weight loss and cures flu and infection also.
