Lights, camera, action! We celebrated the culmination of the Canon First Cut contest, a campaign designed to spotlight and support emerging filmmakers and storytellers. Participants were challenged to create original proof-of-concept videos that showcased their unique creative vision, storytelling ability, and technical skills. From a highly competitive pool of submissions, 12 finalists were selected for their standout work and invited to the screening their films at the Canon First Cut Premiere. At the premiere we announced 4 Grand Prize winners where they won $25,000 to bring their dream project to life.
We extend our sincere thanks to our judges of the Canon First Cut Contest, Rory Kramer, Josh Richards, Michelle Khare, and Colin & Samir, for their time, expertise, and thoughtful evaluation throughout the process.
Huge shoutout to our hosts of the evening Alisha Marie and Zane Hijazi, as well as our red carpet host Teejay Hughes, and to every creator who participated and helped make this contest an inspiring celebration of creativity!
