When I was searching on this unit, I wasn't able to find any examples with video that really demonstrated what the inbuilt Uni Mics are capable of in a field based application.
So, I figured I'd just buy one second hand and do exactly that.
Out of all the handheld recorders I have so far, I really feel the inbuilt microphones on this unit are the best I have used. There's a really clear stereo separation, and the sound is crisp.
I haven't used the inbuilt Omni microphones, because the quality isn't particularly amazing. I feel these mics are best suited to perhaps a conference or meeting setting for capturing voices, rather than anything field based.
I applied a Low Cut of 80KHhz on the recorder for all of these tests. It's just my personal preference. However, without it, it still sounds excellent.
Hopefully, I will be able to do another video shortly using this unit and the Clippy EM272's as external microphones.
For now though, enjoy.
