"This is a three-wheeled electric motorcycle. Dual motor, front-wheel drive, so you have actually one motor controls each wheel in the front. Zero to 60 in seven and a half seconds and what that does is it really gives you a lot of maneuverability in the urban environment. So when you're in a small-form vehicle and you're a thousand pounds on the road versus a four or five-thousand pound SUV (sport utility vehicle), you want to be able to maneuver well. You want to be able to slip through traffic and that's really, having that torque is certainly a fun factor but it's also a safety issue. It can go freeway speed. Seventy miles on a charge on the base model. A hundred-30 miles of range with the upgraded battery. So the whole idea of this product, of the SRK is to do, it's what does your daily driving in just a much more efficient way. Much more cost efficient. Much more energy efficient. And much more fun way of getting around town.''

LEADIN:
A US company has unveiled an electric vehicle that it claims could be your new way to get around town.
Arcimoto's three-wheel electric motorcycle is designed to replace larger, fossil-fuel burning cars that are used for daily driving.
STORYLINE:
This is the Arcimoto SRK Generation 8 - a speedy new three-wheel electric motorcycle.
Its manufacturer, Oregon-based company Arcimoto, says it can hold its own amongst gas-guzzling vehicles on the daily commute.
"This is a three-wheeled electric motorcycle. Dual motor, front-wheel drive, so you have actually one motor controls each wheel in the front. The base model has a range of 70 miles (112 kilometres) and can do zero to 60 mph (zero to 95 kph) in 7.5 seconds.
Production is slated to begin later in 2016.
