Why Was a New Chariot Needed?

Over the past several years, the existing Brahma Taladhwaja Rath had been facing serious operational issues:
Problems with all 14 wheels
Frequent imbalance during pulling
Repeated halts during procession
Delays in reaching the Mausima Temple
Similar disruptions during Bahuda Yatra

These recurring technical issues caused inconvenience to devotees and disrupted the traditional schedule of the festival.

Taking the matter seriously, the state government has now sanctioned ₹1 crore to ensure smooth and disciplined conduct of the upcoming Rath Yatra.
