Emergency Management and Agriculture Minister Murray Watt says the Albanese government doesn’t pay too much attention to polls because the “only one” which counts is election day.
According to the latest Newspoll, the Coalition and Labor are polling equal at 50 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.
“As you’ve heard every other politician say, we don’t pay too much attention to polls,” Mr Watt told Sky News Australia.
“The only one that counts is election day.
“I don’t think it’s surprising that in an environment where people are feeling cost of living pressures, we’re seeing polls tighten.”
