Video Summary
A Pearson product-moment correlation was conducted to examine the relationship between district free/reduced lunch percentage and the percentage of students scoring at the exceeding level in math. There was a strong, statistically significant negative correlation between the variables, r (233) = -.696, p value is less than .001. Higher percentages of students receiving free/reduced lunch were associated with lower percentages of students scoring at the exceeding level in math. The coefficient of determination (r2 = .484) indicates that approximately 48.4% of the variance in math exceeding performance is associated with differences in free/reduced lunch percentage.
