Raytheon Wins $68 Million Night-Vision Weapon Sights Contract

Описание: Raytheon Co (NYSE:RTN) has won a $68.6 million contract to deliver night-vision weapon sights to the U.S. Army. In its review of industry proposals, the army determined that Raytheon Network Centric Systems offered best value and awarded the Raytheon division a majority delivery quantity.

The defense contractor said it has already provided more than 26,500 night vision sights that use thermal imaging technology to the army, and the new contract will boost than number to 40,000.

Glynn Raymer, vice president, Raytheon NCS Combat Systems said, "Raytheon's thermal weapon sights have long set a standard of superior night vision targeting performance and durability for the soldier, By employing a new high-volume, lean factory and a modular, common technology approach across our TWS product line, we have also achieved best value for the Army."

Shares of Raytheon are trading down 0.98% at $48.2.
