Those there are several sources of electromotive force, the most common is the generator. "Generators exploit motional emfs, which arise when you move a wire through a magnetic field." Since we are dealing with moving, there is a time component that needs to be considered. This is considered in a uniquely simple way:
The flux rule for motional emf! (Magnetic flux.)
Here, we see an example of how this is used in problem solving! Be very careful with the signs you encounter in the problems though. Right hand rule, and negatives everywhere.
