Quick Bread Recipe (How to Make Roast Bake)
Flatbread (Bake) is a quick and easy recipe which takes less than one hour to make from start to finish. This best recipe for flatbread, and it can be served with a variety of things, including spreads, sausages, eggs, ham or whatever your heart desires.
Flatbread is a big part of the Trinidad and Tobago Culture. As a child, every evening my grandmother would make two of these “bakes,” and we would have one at supper time with a cup of hot chocolate before going to bed. On mornings we would have the other for breakfast with butter and cheese or even peanut butter before going to school.
After migrating to England, I became more use to buying bread, being single it was easy just to pick up a loaf at the supermarket, which would last me for a few days. However, after getting married, consumption increased as there was now two of us and we would often have friends stay over. As a result, I decided that it was much easier just to make quick “bake” early in the morning and serve it hot straight from the oven and it was enjoyed by many.
We have a bread maker and sometimes set it to have a fresh loaf on mornings, but at times when we forget to put on the machine, this old fashioned recipe comes in really handy. Also, my two-year-old son loves it with peanut butter, jam or both. So this is a great recipe for kids. My son especially loves when I get him to help me, and we sometimes make little shapes with the dough by using cookie cutters. My grandmother did the same with us; we did not have cutters, but we often made little men or women and were always excited to eat them. Therefore, this is a brilliant child recipe.

Ingredients
3 ½ cups strong white flour or plain flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
¾ tbsp. active dried yeast
280 ml water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 190*C/380*F
In a large mixing bowl; add flour, salt, sugar, yeast. Mix to combine all ingredients.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add; oil and water.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients together until they form a soft ball, then knead the dough for about five mins inside of the bowl. If the is slightly sticky, add a little extra flour.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to rest for half hour
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into the shape of a circle
Place on a lightly greased pizza tray or baking sheet. Prick the dough with a fork cover the entire circle to allow it to rise evenly in the oven.
Bake at 375*F/190*C for 20-25 mins or until golden brown.
