Condor Flats celebrates California’s aviation industry, which flew in with Howard Hughes and other pioneers in the 1930s and has been an essential part of the local scene ever since. With its weathered hangars left over from man's first attempts to break the sound barrier, the Flats present a high-desert test pilots' landing field in a dusty landscape.
This loop was installed from Disney's California Adventure’s opening in 2001 until 2011. It intertwined a delightful number of instrumental selections from films evoking the spirit of adventure, patriotism, and exploration.
We reconstructed this loop using a recording by 772pilot. A light amount of dynamic compression was applied to the edited product.
