Zero waste pineapple

Описание: Using one single organic pineapple, you can get 2 recipes and a lovely houseplant without wasting any single part of it.

TEPACHE

1 x jar
1 x organic pineapple (Peels and core)
1 x cup unrefined brown sugar
1 x stick of cinnamon
6 x cups of filtered water

STEP BY STEP:

Cut the peel and extract the core of your pineapple
In a jar add the pineapple peels, core, sugar, cinnamon and water
Cover it with lid or cheesecloth for about 3 days
Scoop out every day the white foam which will form on top.
Strain and bottle it up. It is best to wait for 1 extra day before drinking it

CHOCOLATE FRUIT LOLLIES: 🍫 🍍

1 x organic pineapple
1 x bar of dark chocolate
1 x handful of almonds or nuts (optional)

STEP BY STEP:

Slice your pineapple a few cm thick
Remove the core (I used the top part of a spice jar to do it)
Melt your chocolate and coat the top part of every pineapple’s slice
Sprinkle your favourite nuts (optional)
Let sit in the fridge until completely chilled

PINEAPPLE TOP, HOUSEPLANT:

let the lower rind of the green part dry for a day, it will be easier to remove it
Remove a few cm of the lower leaves to uncover the white stem
Place in a cup of water and replace the water every few days
It will produce roots in 2 weeks and ready to plant in soil in about 4 weeks
