Only 30 percent of the Buddhist remains in Takhtbhai are yet excavated. The remaining 70 percent are waiting the approval of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) approval.
186km from Islamabad, the Takhtbhai Buddhist Monastery remains are some 2200 years old and the most preserved archeological sites the world over.
After excavation of the remaining 70% of the site, it may become the world best heritage site.
In this video, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) team takes you to the site during heavy spring rains and explains the archeological, historical and touristic importance of this national treasury and human heritage.
