"We know how to create American-made, US-community based, clean, regenerative energy. There is already a town in Missouri that runs on wind power that hasn''t been subjected to the energy price hikes. They make more energy than they need. It works, it''s here, it''s available. President Obama promised us that that was his agenda and so far we haven''t seen any signs of that, so we''re hoping that he will not bow to the lobbyists and will make the right decision by the US citizens."

STORYLINE:
Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested in front of the White House in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, along with other environmental protesters who oppose a planned oil pipeline from Canada to the US Gulf Coast.
The sit-in involved dozens protesting against the TransCanada Corporation''s proposed Keystone XL pipeline.
Calgary-based TransCanada wants to build a massive pipeline to carry crude oil extracted from tar sands in Alberta to refineries in Texas.
The pipeline, which would travel through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma, would carry an estimated
700-thousand barrels of oil a day, doubling the capacity of an existing pipeline from Canada.
Before she was arrested, Hannah told The Associated Press that the protesters wanted America to be free from dependence on fossil fuels.
She said they hoped President Barack Obama would not bow to oil lobbyists, and opponents have urged him to block the project as a sign he is serious about protecting the environment.
Last week the Obama administration removed a major roadblock to the planned 7 (b) billion US dollars oil pipeline, saying in a report that the project was unlikely to cause significant environmental damage during construction or operation.
Environmental groups call for clean energy investments instead, saying the pipeline would bring dirty oil that requires huge amounts of energy to extract and could cause an ecological disaster in case of a spill.
TransCanada maintains that the project would create tens of thousands of jobs and would be built to strict environmental standards.
Hannah sat down on the pavement near the White House and refused orders from US Park Police to move.
She has been arrested in the past for environmental causes.
