2025 Segway UT6M First Look & Thoughts | Why We Chose It As Our First Farm UTV

When we moved back to the farm about 9 years ago everybody told me that I needed to buy a side-by-side, and that I would be shocked how much I used it. I resisted the urge to get one saying that I was afraid it would make me lazy and that I could manage just fine with our trucks, tractors, and my legs. I didn't want to be one of those guys who just hops on the UTV for every small job and I wanted to maintain my active lifestyle.

Well, as our farm plan has evolved and we are shifting a few things for 2026, I figured I may as well go ahead and make the jump into the UTV life.

I did a lot of research into the various makes and models out there. One think that turned me off with UTVs originally was the price tag. I started looking into the ones made by Polaris, Honda, CanAm, etc., but just couldn't justify the price tag for a UTV that was going to be used for light duty farm work. Eventually I found a few other small farm channels on YouTube that were using UTVs from other more economical (budget friendly) manufacturers and that reinvigorated my search.

We eventually decided to go with a Segway UT6-M thanks to its size, power, payload capacity, and towing capacity when compared to other budget friendly manufacturers and models.

We purchased ours from Rocky Top Powersports in Rocky Top, TN, and we worked directly with the business owner. We looked at and test drove several different makes and models there, and he wasn't pushy in trying to drive us toward one particular brand or model.

Only time will tell how this holds up compared to other brands, but I will be doing regular update videos on it to keep everybody up to speed on how it is performing.
