Working on an Ampeg AEB-1 bass with a particularly interesting issue. My friend and mentor Steve has just informed me that the screws under the pickguard are called "clutch head screws."
There are some clips I didn't include, such as me tapping on the neck, headstock, and everywhere on the body and fingerboard to show that it has extreme microphonics, in the sense that it picks up noise all over the entire bass very well. That could be part of why it sounds so good.
I also plugged my test jack into the output jack, and hooked it up to my DE-5000 LCR meter, and got the following measurements for the pickup (all knobs turned all the way up):
DCR..................17.24k
Capacitance....107pF
Inductance......13.7 H
Very interesting measurements that may go a long way in producing a replica. The inductance is exceptionally high, especially for such a comparatively low resistance. The capacitance is also quite low.
