Repairing a Truth brand casement window mechanism

Turns out our casing tore-open again, and I'm not sure if I can fix it now, as the potmetal is getting work-hardened and/or weak, and I think it's only a matter of time before it fails (breaks) altogether. This video shows a repair of a Truth brand casement mechanism in a "new old" house we bought not too long ago. While getting ready to paint the kitchen I got really tired of NOT being able to open the window, so I took some time to dig into it. Window works great now, but will it hold-up over time? Who knows, and to be honest, I don't really care, as we'll be replacing these windows within the next year or so.
