The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) is a state-of-the-art facility that is safely destroying the chemical weapons stockpile at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot in Pueblo, Colorado. This video shows the steps required to destroy the remaining stockpile in Pueblo, using neutralization followed by biotreatment as the primary destruction technology.
The stockpile at the depot originally consisted of mustard agent configured in 155mm projectiles, 105mm projectiles and 4.2-inch mortar rounds.
Destruction operations began in Pueblo in 2015 and are scheduled to complete by the Chemical Weapons Convention treaty commitment date of Sept. 30, 2023.
The team successfully completed the 155mm and 105mm projectile campaigns and is now destroying the 4.2-inch mortar rounds.
