Leaders Meet To Discuss Political Situation In Burundi

Описание: Leaders of the five-nation East African Community - made up of Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda as well as Burundi - are due to hold an emergency meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Tomorrow. The Democratic Republic of Congo president, Joseph Kabila; South Africa's deputy president, Cyril Ramaphosa; and the leading US diplomat for Africa, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, are also expected to attend. Burundi president Pierre Nkurunziza is also attending the meeting. Foreign ministers from EAC nations, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, have been meeting in Dar es Salaam Tanzania, ahead of that Heads of state meeting on Wednesday. The Foreign ministers had last week travelled to Burundi to discuss possible solutions with both the government and the opposition.
