The Toledo Symphony Orchestra introduced a String Cadet Program for the 2011-12 season. In contrast to the three Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestras (Philharmonic, Symphonic and Concert), it is a non-audition performing group, that worked together on several pieces, Sept. 2011 - May 2012. This is the second of two pieces performed at the start of the TSYO Pops! Concert on May 14, 2012.
Betsy Lawrence, Orchestra Director at Perrysburg High School, and Bob Mirakian, Music Director of the Richmond Virginia Philharmonic, and PhD. candidate at Indiana University, are the instructors. (and sitting at audience right, performing with the youth players.
