[**UPDATE** January 1, 2025 - I just read that Holocaust passed away on December 29, 2024. My heart, prayers, and condolences goes out to his family and fans. This project was released on December 9, 2024, prior to his death to pay homage to him and to give fans (new and old) the opportunity to experience more of his former musical ingenuity that was self-archived before it truly took fruition. May this project now commemorate and honor him as we mourn this monumental legendary lyricist.]
Born Anthony Creston Brown, the American Hip-Hop artist known as “Holocaust” is a West Coast Wu-Tang Clan affiliate from California. As a former member of the West Coast Hip-Hop rap group “Black Knights,” the group was discovered by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan in the late 1990’s. Holocaust, whose unique, lyrical, and brutal style of rap entranced listeners like never before. His deep barbaric voice resonated an unyielding presence, the pictures he painted with his words were poetically vivid, and his delivery was fluent, chilling, and extremely captivating. Perhaps one of his biggest milestones, was his guest appearance on the RZA/Bobby Digital song entitled “ • Holocaust (Silkworm) .” RZA himself stated, “he [Holocaust] ripped that song so much that I named the song after him.” Another fan favorite milestone, was Holocaust’s guest appearances on the Wu-Tang affiliate group Killarmy’s sophomore album (released in 1998) entitled “Dirty Weaponry” were nothing less than iconic. He appeared on the songs “ • Killarmy Feat. Holocaust - Bastard Swordsman ” and “ • Killarmy Feat. Holocaust - Doomsday .” Both appearances were lyrically menacing, lethally fluent, and simply unmatched in sheer caliber. Later he would label this style of rapping as the “Mixed Forest Zone.” A lyrical but simplistic, futuristic but prehistoric, dark but illustrious elixir of addictive verses. Due to popular demand, Holocaust was working on a RZA-produced album that featured every Wu-Tang Clan member that would have undoubtedly set the Hip-Hop world ablaze. Unfortunately, before the album was completed, a studio flood destroyed several Wu-Tang projects, including Holocaust’s RZA-produced album. In 2002, Holocaust switched his name from “Holocaust” to “Warcloud” and also switched his rapping style drastically. His new style was more abstract, unconventionally offbeat, and very spoken-wordish in terms of style and delivery/flow. With such a polarizing change, some fans loved the new style while others preferred his older style.
As an original super-fan of Holocaust and his uncanny “Mixed Forest Zone” style, I always wondered what that RZA-produced album would have sounded like or what new Holocaust music in his old style would sound like? Ever since Holocaust switched his name and style in 2002, he declines to revert back to his old style. As a result, this is what inspired the creation of this “Mixed Forest Zone - The Album” AI project. As a fan, and out of the utmost respect and admiration for Holocaust, I created this AI album for those like me who yearn for new or unreleased “Mixed Forest Zone” Holocaust music. If you like the album and/or appreciate the efforts that went into this project, then please share it with other like-minded fans and applicable outlets.
