खडकवासला में स्थित राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी (एनडीए) भारत के सबसे प्रतिष्ठित अंतर-सेवा प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों में से एक है। एनडीए को देश में सैन्य अधिकारियों को प्रशिक्षण देने वाली पहली मिलिट्री एकेडेमी होने का गौरव प्राप्त है। यहां सेना की तीनों फोर्सेस आर्मी, नेवी और एयरफोर्स के अधिकारियों को प्रशिक्षित किया जाता है।

NDA is the premier training institute of Indian forces which provides a strong foundation to the future officers. Khadakwasla town of Pune was chosen as the place to set up the academy because it was an ideal place to train the cadets of all three wings of the armed forces.

The headquarter of the academy is located in Sudan Block. This building is dedicated in memory of those soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the initial phase of second world war for the freedom of Sudan.
