This video gives some of the highlights of the 1000 miles of walking I've done this year. I have to say, it's been a battle! With health issues, working, looking after both my own dad and my partner's dad that lives with us and of course not forgetting the precious time with my grand daughter it has been a challenge. Oh, did I leave out renovating the house too!!
I found it much easier to get my miles in during the lighter months, late spring through to autumn. Winter - it is almost 8am before it's light some mornings and I do not feel safe going out in the dark.
When I signed up to the challenge I envisaged going different places but in the end I was squeezing the walks in. I also partly did it to become fitter. Next year, 2024, I know I'll continue to do my walks but not necessarily counting the miles. I've enjoyed the challenge but definitely want to enjoy more of 2024
