This statement is not an attack on any gender, but a challenge to a dangerous social justification. Crimes committed in the name of “honor” are not acts of morality; they are acts of violence rooted in inequality and misuse of power.
If the standard of honor were applied equally, society would be forced to confront its own contradictions. The law recognizes that no individual has the right to take a life under any cultural or emotional pretext.
Honor cannot be a defense for murder. Silence cannot be mistaken for consent. Justice demands that such acts be named for what they truly are: violations of human rights and dignity.
