Glastonbury is located in Somerset, in the southwest of the UK below the border with Wales. The first Glastonbury Festival, originally called the Pilton Pop, Blues & Folk Festival, was held in 1970, the day after Jimi Hendrix died. The festival was started by Michael Eavis to help a local farmer pay off his overdraft. Medical services have been provided at Glastonbury for 40 years, and babies are not uncommon to be born on the site.
