In the 200+ clients I’ve worked with for period recovery, I can confidently say no one loses their period on purpose.
In fact, the majority of the women I work with started changing their habits with food and exercise because they want to be healthier!
Not all habits that lead to period loss are healthy, and not all habits that lead to period loss are UNhealthy.
What it comes down to is intention and flexibility,
👉🏼 There’s a difference between working to include more whole foods and cutting out ALL processed foods as a form of restriction
👉🏼 There’s a difference between doing a HIIT workout because you love the challenge verses feeling guilty for taking a day off exercise when your body needs rest
I’m a firm believer that recovery will make you a healthier person, even if it feels like you’re going against the grain on some dogmatic views towards “health”
Even if you feel you have a great relationship with food, if you’ve lost your period there’s a decent chances there’s some disordered thoughts and behaviors going on.
